With more than 95+ years of collective teaching, Ms. Annette and her team of experienced teachers have been offering the award-winning Kindermusik® program that helps children get off to the best kind of start—a musical start!
Our classes, with our top-program awarded teachers, will give your young child every possible musical and academic advantage.
Meet Our Director
Annette Morris is the owner and director of Musik Adventures studio, formerly Kindermusik with Ms. Annette & Friends, which started in September 2001 and has taught Kindermusik for 28 years.
She combines her two passions: children and music. Annette holds a B.S. degree in Child and Family Development from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, as well as a Masters in Early Childhood Education. Annette has taught third grade in the Virginia Beach Public Schools as well as teaching 4 year olds in a private Christian school in North Carolina. She has an extensive background in music with training in several instruments as well as vocal training. Annette went through Kindermusik training classes and was licensed in Kindermusik in 1994. Annette and her staff at Musik Adventures Studios have been named a “Top Program” by Kindermusik International since 2003. This award recognizes exemplary service as a Kindermusik Educator and is based on the performance and growth of her studio. She and her wonderful teachers love watching families come together and form lasting memories, make lifelong friends and enjoy the love of making music together!

Emily
Emily Rachel Fowler has been enjoying Kindermusik with families since 1997. She has a Bachelor of Music Education degree with an Instrumental Emphasis from Harding University and became licensed in Kindermusik® in 1997. She has been recognized as a Maestro in Masterful Teaching by Kindermusik International since 2008 and previously participated in achieving each Board Certifying Level from KI. After 14 years teaching Kindermusik for The University of Memphis’ Community Music School, Emily was blessed to join the staff of Kindermusik® w/ Ms. Annette & Friends in 2012. Along with her husband Clay, it has been a treasure for Emily to participate in Kindermusik classes with their children. Both their daughter and son experienced Kindermusik in the womb, while mom taught, and went through the complete program until graduating at 7 years old. In her spare time, Emily delights in God’s creation in the great outdoors, enjoys goofing off with her husband and teens, walking with their dog Chopper, playing or performing on her flute, and reading.

Karen
Karen Schowalter Cooper is from New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in vocal performance from Louisiana State University. She was recruited by the University of Memphis to work towards her Doctorate in Musical Arts in vocal performance as a Hohenberg-Scheidt fellow. Karen is near completion of this degree. She also recently became Level I Orff certified. Karen has performed in Germany, Italy, Israel, and throughout the United States. She was a national finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and in the Chicago Lyric Opera Center for American Artists. Karen has performed numerous operatic roles as well as oratorio with orchestra. She is alto section leader/soloist with the Rhodes MasterSingers chorale and along with teaching Kindermusik classes, she is the Children’s Music Specialist at Germantown Presbyterian Church, where she leads a children’s choir and Sunday school music. She teaches voice, piano, and guitar lessons at St. George’s Independent School in Germantown and through her private studio, “Make A Joyful Noise!” She enjoys teaching Kindermusik inter-generational classes in Germantown. Karen has been a Certified Kindermusik Educator since 2006.

Peggy
Peggy Warner began teaching Kindermusik in the fall of 1997 and has enjoyed every minute of it! She was the owner and director of her own studio, which was also a Top Program studio for several years, before joining Annette in 2018. She graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia with a B.S. degree in Psychology and minors in French and Math. Peggy has been singing as long as she can remember…in elementary, middle school, and high school choirs, as well as all age levels in church choirs. Before leaving home for college, she spent several years singing in a trio with her two sisters. Besides teaching Kindermusik, Peggy sings in the adult choir and directs one of the Children’s Choirs at Germantown United Methodist Church. She lives in Germantown with her husband and has two adult daughters– one in Dallas (with 3 sons, all of whom are Kindermusik graduates) and another in Memphis.

Terri
Terri Doty’s love for music began with piano lessons at age 6. As a teenager, she served as pianist/organist at a local church. She graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Music Education, and received her Orff Level 3 certification. After teaching K – 6 music in Memphis City Schools for several years, Terri became a stay-at-home mom and homeschooled her three children – Alan, Sarah and Erin. She has been a licensed educator with Kindermusik with Ms. Annette and Friends since 2005. In addition to teaching Kindermusik classes, Terri teaches piano students at her home in Bartlett, and serves as pianist at Leawood East Baptist Church in Cordova.

Valerie
Valerie Robbins was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She is a member of the Bellevue Baptist Church adult choir and sings on the praise team. Valerie has over 10 years of experience working with preschool music at Bellevue, and for the past 8 years she has worked with middle school and high school students in the Singing Christmas Tree. She has also served as a chaperone for the Student Music Mission Project for the past 6 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Memphis. Valerie is married to Steve and is a homeschool mom of two children, one now graduated and the other in 12th grade. Along with her love of singing, Valerie enjoys hanging out with her family, woodworking & needlework such as smocking, knitting & crochet.

Rachel
Rachel Boyd is a native Memphian that has been involved with music since childhood. In Elementary School, she was in choir, sang in church, and fell in love with singing. In Middle School she enjoyed band, but returned to singing in choir in High School. After High School, Rachel was involved with her church youth group doing musical performances and singing solos. After several years as a stay at home mom, Rachel became a preschool teacher at a local Mother’s Day Out. It was during this time she was exposed to Kindermusik and fell in love with it! It became her favorite day of the week. She enjoyed interacting with the children during all the Kindermusik activities. It wasn’t very long until she realized that God wanted her to use her love of music, her teaching skills, and her passion to see young children grow in confidence and in their love for music. Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and her four children, Elijah, Conner, Hayden and Lily.

Lisa
Lisa Hill began falling in love with music at the age of 2 while sitting at the piano with her grandmother, an accomplished pianist. She began teaching piano and violin lessons out of her parents’ home at the age of 16. Lisa is a graduate of the University of Memphis where she graduated in 2008 with a degree in Choral Music Education. There she was a member of the University Singers and traveled and competed in worldwide competitions in both Austria and Germany. Lisa also became Orff Level 1 Certified through the University of Memphis and taught early childhood music and movement at Presbyterian Day School for 5 years. She has been a Midsouth Fair Youth Talent judge, an active member in Community Theatre in the Memphis area and is enjoys singing at her church. Besides teaching preschool music at several local preschools , she also is a princess/performer with Mirror Mirror Parties.
